The Haters
The Haters
By: Jesse Andrews
The Haters is a great hilarious novel about being a hater, having a crush, and being a little different then the average teen. Also about finding yourself and maybe also an awesome band on the way.
I have never liked or even was interested in jazz until this book I guess I am a hater to in some sense.
(The characters are so relatable, I can defiantly see myself being friends with Ash In real life we would be besties!)
The writing though reminds me of Rick Riordan's red pyramid series, How the writing style is it makes you think you could actually talk with these characters.
I really enjoyed this book.
it starts:
For Wes and his best friend, Corey, jazz camp turns out to be lame. It's pretty much all dudes talking in Jazz Voice. But then they jam with Ash, a charismatic girl with an unusual sound, and the three just click. It's three and a half hours of pure musical magic, and Ash makes a decision: They need to hit the road. Because the road, not summer camp, is where bands get good. Before Wes and Corey know it, they're in Ash's SUV heading south, and The Haters Summer of Hate Tour has begun.
